March Locations and Information:
This is event brings together college and local communities to unite as one powerful voice. To accomplish this there are 3 marches: one from Cornell, one from Ithaca College, and one from downtown Ithaca, which all convene together on the Commons for the rally. Participants are encouraged to join any march where they feel community. Marchers are encouraged to make signs, bring banners or wear clothes that highlight groups and organizations standing in solidarity with survivors or with messages of protest against domestic and sexual violence.
Marches leave from:
- Textor Hall, Ithaca College
At 6:15 pm
- Ho Plaza, Cornell University
At 6:30 pm
- GIAC, 310 W. Court Street:
At 6:45 pm
The rally portion of the event begins at 7 pm after all three marchers arrive on The Commons. The rally is meant to be (1), a safe space for survivors, (2), an opportunity for the community to show their support through words, music and other art, and (3), a place to speak out against forms of interpersonal violence. The heart of the rally is survivor and ally speak-out sessions, in which attendees are able to have a brief time to share their experience and impacts of domestic and sexual violence in whatever way feels most healing.
The rally will be on the Ithaca Commons from 7-9pm.
